This review was supposed to be 1 star for the old management. We had an awful experience with them, we asked for urgent maintenance and got no response. But today, after meeting the new staff, the experience was completely different! They responded incredibly fast. The maintenance we had been waiting on for 2 months was fixed in just 2 hours today :))

I went there in 2023. My daughter was the assistant Community Manager. She has since transferred to Jacksonville Florida with the company as a Community Manager. But this property is great!! The property was clean, cappuccino bar, grilling stations, quiet area, really nice. I would definitely recommend living there! 🤩

After having questions and concerns about my living experience, Koral has been nothing but kind and professional to me to ensure my stay here is comfortable. I've lived at 5000 for 6 months now and I've enjoyed every moment of it. From the first apartment showing, to the move-in process, I've felt supported every step. Moving from Atlanta, I've had my fair share of "apartment nightmares." Since moving to 5000, I've enjoyed living in an apartment again. Koral, who has been the most help since I moved, is enthusiastic about the complex and genuinely loves her job. I know if I have any questions or issues she is just an e-mail or call away.

Having lived here 3+ years, I can say that overall this is still one of the best places to live in the Columbia area. The current management company, Greystar, has been with us for almost 2 years and has been mostly effective in solving the issues they inherited from the previous administration, and issues that arise inevitably in apartment living. Koral of the management team is the most notable addition to the community. Not only is she effective in completing requests, hosting community events, and managing the functions of apartment living in an expeditious manner; she goes above and beyond her role by walking the complex nightly to ensure safety, connecting likeminded neighbors to build friendships, as well as finding local resources to suit your needs as a resident. This is very helpful for those moving to Columbia for the first time, and for that alone I highly recommend considering 42 Magnolia/5000 Forest. If you do have the pleasure of moving here, some tips: Leave NOTHING of value in your car and always keep it locked, theft is common in all parts of Columbia and here is not immune. We do have a Courtesy Officer that offers consistent police department presence. "Palmetto bugs" are common even in the cleanest of homes in the south, even so I've seen maybe 5 in the years I've lived here. The tubs are fiberglass so they all creak don't freak out, never had an issue with water pressure or heat and if you do, call the maintenance team they'll have it fixed in a timely manner and are respectful of privacy. Hope that helps!

I have lived here a year now. While the experience might have earned a 3.5 or 4 star review, the office team is what makes 42 Magnolia the best place I've rented over the years, bumping this review up to five stars. They will go out of their way to help you and are always warm, kind, and fun to run into. Koral gets a shout-out for being able to help me find a solution when I was in a complex dilemma regarding renewing my lease v moving. I am happy that, because of her help finding a solution, I am able to find the right lease length for me. They also have family-friendly community events that are truly fun to attend. If you appreciate positive and helpful staff, grown trees, high ceilings, big windows, and friendly neighbors, you will probably like it here.

Koral has helped me tremendously from the very beginning and has gone above and beyond to assist me with anything that has come up during my time here. There will always be pros and cons to complexes, though that is part of apartment living. The location here is outstanding and the prices are very reasonable. I love living here and am looking forward to another year!
